Following the finding of oil at the Raman mountain in 1940, Turkish Petroleum Corporation TPAO, installs the first oil refinery of the region in İluh village. In a few years, the government constructs a series of social facilities and houses for the workmen coming from outside not to bore them here. İluh shortly prospers and becomes a contemporary place and is then renamed Batman. In the context of these developments, TPAO forms the Batman Orchestra in 1963. The film enlightens the social, cultural and political atmosphere of Turkey at that period, when the orchestra wins the “Golden Microphone Song Contest” organized by Hürriyet Newspaper, which was one of the most prestigious music contests of the country.
