Ahlat is a red city in the east of Turkey, on the shores of Van lake. While walking in this fairy tale setting, you’ll travel in time back and forth. Sometimes its the sound of sledgehammer, sometimes talk in the local teahouse which brings you back. This documentary is a travel to the multilayer past of a city which was called Kubbet-ül ‹slam in Middle Ages. Documentary moves in tidal waves of yesterday and today and this little known place and time reanimates by help of mason and results of archaelogical excavations. Film starts at dusk and ends by dawn.
